Afarinick Company Limited was created to provide services targeted at ensuring sustainable agriculture within the agricultural sector in Ghana. Stakeholder collaboration has been pivotal for our success therefore we work directly with our parent company, CJ Commodities Limited and our sister company AMP Logistics (GH) Limited to advance sustainable agriculture.
Our sustainable agricultural program has been couched out of two main, Economic Growth and Sustained Environment to ensure the livelihood improvement of farmers, contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Ghana and contribute to the maintenance of the environment in which farming activities are conducted.
1. Economic Growth
Afarinick Comapnay Limited was created to provide services targeted at ensuring sustainable agriculture within the agricultural sector in Ghana. Stakeholder collaboration has been pivotal for our success therefore we work directly with our parent company, CJ Commodities Limited and our sister company AMP Logistics (GH) Limited to advance sustainable agriculture.
Our sustainable agricultural program has been couched out of two main, Economic Growth and Sustained Environment to ensure the livelihood improvement of farmers, contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Ghana and contribute to the maintenance of the environment in which farming activities are conducted.
2. Sustained Environment
In addition, for the farmer trainings provided, ACL trains farmers to become environmentalists being mindful of the impacts their farming activities have on the environment. They are trained on the best farm, input application and disposal practices. We also promote the planting of economical shade trees in appreciation of the importance of forest cover in mitigating climate change, improving biodiversity, prevention of land degradation and soil erosion.
ACL in partnership with AMP has developed and began the implementation of a Carbon Neutral project with the aim of increasing carbon sequestration along the CJ sustainable sourcing supply chain. AMP as a logistics company emits carbon through its transportation services rendered to stakeholders within the cocoa sector. The objective of the project is to track the carbon emitted by AMP and offset the carbon footprint through the promotion of agroforestry within the CJ supply chain.
ACL in line with this vision, has established nurseries with up to 12 varieties of economical shade tree seedlings to serve farmers within selected districts. These include plantain suckers which serve as additional incomes for farmers during the lean season. Through the farmer trainings and the promotion of agroforestry, ACL contributes directly to the maintenance of the farming environment ensuring sustainable agriculture along the CJ supply chain.
